… the White House has indicated that the speech was a “rhetorical institutionalization of the Bush doctrine” ….
The what?
Dictionary.com says:
in·sti·tu·tion·al·ize
- 1.
- 1. To make into, treat as, or give the character of an institution to.
- 2. To make part of a structured and usually well-established system: a society that has institutionalized injustice.
- 2. To place (a person) in the care of an institution.
I like the second definitation better, it makes more sense to think that Bush's doctrine will be put into the care of a rhetorical instution. Like, perhaps a mental institution.
