Cuba: the rich

“Many of the foreigners living in Havana are living at the Hemingway Marina, either on boats or in the higher priced ‘tourists’ houses located there. The houses are the type of resort houses one sees on a golf course in a country club. They looked comfortable. Most of the tenants were vacationing Europeans. Those expatriates who are living on boats are living well. The marina costs are comparable to most marina costs in Florida and the views and facilities are magnificent. One expat I talked to had a television dish, a motorcycle, as well as a car and he was living quite well. This person also had a small apartment in Havana but being a young bachelor he preferred to live on his boat. ”
